ST MICHAEL'S MOUNT AT HIGH TIDE
The instantly recognisable off-shore landmark observed on a day of dark skies and frequent cloudbursts.
The island is linked to the shore by a man-made causeway of granite setts, passable between mid-tide and low-water. St Michael's Mount is one of 43 unbridged tidal islands that one can walk to from mainland Britain.
