Saltburn Pier.
Located in the Victorian town of Saltburn, the pier was constructed in 1869 and a steamer landing stage initially existed at the head, providing a service to Middlesbrough.
Originally constructed at 1500 feet in length, a combination of storms, general deterioration and even modifications by The Royal Engineers to guard against Nazi invasion during World War 2, eventually reduced the pier to its current length of 681 feet.
This is now the only remaining pier in Yorkshire.
Location: Saltburn, Teesside, UK.
